Drexel University Professor Arrested: Charged with Conspiracy and Theft
Mariana Chilton

Drexel University professor Mariana Chilton was arrested for stealing pro-Israel signs from a synagogue, yet she still remains employed by the school.
Chilton and two others were charged in relation to the theft of pro-Israel signs outside of homes and a temple in Pennsylvania.
According to local news reports, police saw Chilton’s vehicle parked outside of Main Line Reform Temple. Multiple pro-Israel signs were reportedly found inside the Chilton’s car.
When questioned by police, Chilton said, “We are just taking them because we feel like it is a representative of genocide.”
The signs read, “MLRT Stands With Israel,” “We Stand With Israel,” and “Our Community Stands With Israel.”
After the police officer told Chilton and the two other women in the car the signs belonged to a synagogue, Chilton said, “[…] we can just put them back,” not appearing to show remorse or regret for her actions.
Chilton was charged with conspiracy and theft.
Drexel’s response was to just place Chilton on administrative leave.
Not only is Chilton a professor at Drexel’s Dornsife School of Public Health, but her biography also claims she founded Dornsife’s Center for Hunger-Free Communities and Witness to Hunger, described as “a movement to increase women’s participation in the national dialogue on hunger and poverty.”
Is someone who considers a synagogue pro-genocide someone sho should be teaching about public health and in charge of hunger policy?
